Susceptibility artifacts

For an object to be properly imaged with an MR scanner, the magnetic field in the scanner should be completely homogenous. However, because of their properties some objects or tissue heterogeneities (like body cavities) have a distorting influence on the homogeneity of the magnetic field. This can lead to a distortion or susceptibility artifact in the MR image.

MR:comp has been officially accredited to conduct tests of susceptibility artifacts from passive implants according to ASTM F2119.
