Laboratory magnets

When subjecting an implant to an MR safety test, it is not always necessary to expose the implant to the three types of fields generated by an MR scanner (the static magnetic, gradient magnetic, and RF electromagnetic field) simultaneously. Instead, these field types can be separated and can be applied to the implant in separate tests.

Therefore MR safety testing does not always require the use of an MR scanner, but can be conducted in controlled laboratory test systems and simulators. MR:comp is offering sophisticated test systems for simulating the switched gradient magnetic field (dB/dt) of MR systems on a controlled laboratory level. The systems cover the requirements of the future ISO Technical Specification ISO/TS 10974 for testing MR safety of active implantable medical devices and are listed on the right side.
